Time to Chill

Hi!  It's Wednesday which means there's another fabulous sketch over on Splitcoast Stampers!  I hope you can come play with us this week!  The sketch is super fun!

I am loving this set, Snow Place and the coordinating thinlits.  They are so adorable and very versatile!  I just had to use it along with some new designer paper called Home for Christmas for this week's card!

This sketch is super fun!  I hadn't made a square card in awhile, so it was fun to do one.  The snowman is stamped and cut out with the thinlits and popped up on dimensionals.  Everything is pretty straight forward on this card and I love how it turned out!

Thanks for stopping by!

Tis the Season!

Hi!  Happy Wednesday!  There is a new sketch up at Splitcoast Stampers!  Hop on over and join us!

I will be the first to admit... this sketch threw me for a loop.  I don't know why, but I always struggle with angles.  To top it off.. the blade on my paper cutter decided to stop cutting nice smooth lines and was just demolishing the edges of every cut I made... GRRR.  I need to go get some new ones.. good thing I just received a $10 reward from AC Moore.. HAHA!  OH... and my Cherry Cobbler ink pad apparently is going back and so my image looks really bad in person.. thankfully, it photographed okay.  There are weird little pills on the stamp pad, like you get on your sweater.  WEIRD!

Anyway, I used my new set, Oh What Fun and made a simple Christmas card using the paper Trim the Tree from last year.  I think it was from last year... ANYWAY... I think it turned out pretty cute and was a good way to use up some scraps!

The ribbon is the Cherry Cobbler quilted ribbon.  I don't know what it is, but I cannot make a decent bow with that stuff, so I just knotted it.

Thanks for stopping by!

Oh, What Fun

I always find myself starting to look forward to Christmas about this time each year.  I don't know what it is, but I dream of it getting here, but then when it does I just feel like it goes way too fast and I'm exhausted.. haha!  Anyway, the plus to being in the Christmas spirit early is that I get a jump on my holiday cards.

Today's card is for the Pals Paper Arts challenge which is a sketch!  It is a pretty simple sketch this time and since it just required one small panel, I thought it would be fun to highlight some bigger print designer paper.  This paper is retired, of course, but I never really used it... Imagine that!  HAHA!  It is called Nordic Noel.  I paired it with one of my new stamp sets, Oh, What Fun!

I like how this turned out and it was super easy to put together!

Thanks for stopping by!

From Santa

Ever made a card and you were like.. YES THIS IS AWESOME!  Well, that was the feeling that I had when I made this card!  Look, I even heat embossed.. WHOA!  HAHA!  Last Friday, my mom and I had a stampin' day at her house and I got really creative with some of my new supplies, along with a few new goodies that had just come in.

I was inspired to do last week's Sketch Frenzy and I just kind of went from there.

The house is stamped and heat embossed with white embossing powder on Baked Brown Sugar card stock.  The Santa and reindeer are also heat embossed with white embossing powder.  The sentiment is from the new set, Oh What Fun!  I used the new Softly Falling embossing folder to make my snow.  The tag is made with a Chalk Talk Framelit with the slot punch added.

I can't remember what paper I used.. ACK!  It was some that my mom had a few years ago.  It is Stampin' Up.

Baked Brown Sugar, Real Red, Whisper White

Pastel Butterflies

Whew... I'm trying to get caught up on my posts!  I actually have been stamping, but I haven't had time to take pictures and post everything!  I made this card last week for the Splitcoast Stampers color challenge to use Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz, and So Saffron with a dessert option of flowers.  I also added Smoky Slate as a neutral on my card.

I used that week's Mojo Monday sketch as well.

I used my Stampin' Write markers and aqua painter to do the coloring on the flower and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.  I used my color coach (why in the world did they get rid of that handy tool?) to determine which colors to use for shading.

The designer paper is called Nursery Nest and, of course, has been retired!

Paper: Pear Pizzazz, Smoky Slate, Water Color Paper, Blushing Bride, So Saffron, Nursery Nest DP
Stamps: Butterfly Basics
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Pear Pizzazz

An Ode to Kiwi Kiss

Hello!  Happy Wednesday which means there is a new sketch over on Splitcoast Stampers!  I love this fun sketch!  Hop on over and join us!

I think I've mentioned before that I don't make many Halloween cards.  However, I have this cute retired Halloween set called Tricky Treats that I haven't used all that much, so I thought I would give it some ink today.  The designer paper is ancient and I only have scraps of it left, but it is cute and figured I would drag it out once more!  It's called Ghostly Greetings

This card features one of my most beloved colors, Kiwi Kiss.  Unfortunately, the color has been discontinued, but I still have a few scraps remaining.  I am down to little tiny scraps, so I was lucky to find any to fit my card.  The ribbon is also retired and I only have a few small pieces of it left.  I had enough to make a knot, but not a full bow.  Ok, I'm sad.  I miss Kiwi Kiss!

I hope you're having a great week and that this card gets you into the Halloween mood!

Perk Up!

Happy Wednesday!  I am proud to announce that beginning TODAY, I will be on the design team for the Splitcoast Stampers Sketch Challenge!  I am super excited to be chosen!

This is my first week as a designer.  I just love this skech, it is simple, but different.  October brings cooler weather which means my coffee and tea intake go up which is what inspired this card!  I dug out an old set called Morning Cup for this challenge and I stuck with a warm color combination of Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, and Cajun Craze.  The designer paper is a retired series called Comfort Cafe which is the perfect name for my card... warm and cozy!

I hope you will slip on over to Splitcoast and join in the fun with us this week!  Make sure to use keyword SC561 when uploading to the Splitcoast Gallery so we can see all the beautiful cards in one place!
