Sending Bright Wishes

Happy Friday!  This week has flown by and I have been too busy to get much stampin' done!  I had a few minutes today and knew I wanted to sit down and do this week's sketch challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers!  I paired it with this week's ColourQ which was a bright combination of Lovely Lilac (retired), So Saffron, Taken with Teal (retired), and Tangerine Tango.  I will admit, this color combo scared me a little, but I do think it's fun.

I used a technique called Distress Stain Watercolor Technique.  I don't own any distress stain inks that they used in the tutorial, so I just used Stampin' Write Markers and an aqua painter pen.  I think it turned out pretty good!  I do with I had added a little detail on the flowers, but oh well.. it's done now.. haha!

I hope you enjoy my card!  I will be offline for a week or so while I spend some time with my family, but I will see you after Labor Day!  Have a great week!

Supplies List:
Paper: Lovely Lilac, Watercolor Paper, Taken with Teal, International Bazaar DP
Stamps: Butterfly Basics
Ink: Lovely Lilac, Tangerine Tango
Accessories: So Saffron Taffeta Ribbon, 1'' Circle Punch, Taken with Teal, Tangerine Tango, Lovely Lilac Stampin' Write Markers, Bitty Butterfly Punch

Snappy Snappy

Happy Monday!!  I hope you've had a great start to your week!  Monday means a new Mojo Sketch!  Woo hoo!  I am settling back into a stampin' routine and it couldn't feel better!  Of course, once I get back to work... well, we will see how it goes!

I decided to use a retired, but much loved set today called Crab & Company.  It was one of the very first Stampin' Up sets I ever bought and I still love it.  I also pulled out my Prisma Colored Pencils and my Odorless Mineral Spirits to color him!  Does anyone still use colored pencils?  I feel like so much emphasis is on markers now, so it was fun to do something different.

I hope you enjoy my card!

Supplies List:
Paper: Tangelo Twist, Crushed Curry, Birthday Bash DP
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black & Bermuda Bay
Stamps: Crap & Company
Accessories: Linen Thread, Large Oval Punch, Stampin' Dimensional, Prisma Colored Pencils, Odorless Mineral Spirits, Scallop Circle Nestabilities

Whimsical Mosaic

Happy Sunday!  I hope you've had a great weekend!  Mine has been pretty good!  I'm super tired today from working at the studio all day yesterday.  We enlarged one of the dance rooms and we had to start cleaning and laying the floor down.  So, I'm feeling that today!

This card is for today's Sweet Sunday Sketch and for the Hand Stamped Sentiments color challenge!  The color challenge was to use Pool Party, Tangerine Tango, and Lost Lagoon.  I only own the Lost Lagoon marker, so that made it quite a challenge.  I literally have no Lost Lagoon cardstock and the only designer paper I have for it just didn't go with my design.

I've seen a lot of negative die cut images lately and thought I would give it a try with the old, but very loved, Top Note Die!  The middle piece was cut from Pool Party cardstock, then dry embossed with the Modern Mosaic embossing folder.  It's hard to see the embossing in my picture, though.  I cut around the edges of the Pool Party top note layer so I would have a white border.

I used my paper piercing tool and template to do the paper piercing on the two corners of my top layer.  The sentiment is from a long retired set called Whimsical Words.  The other two layers are stamped with Mosaic Madness.

I hope you like my card!

Supplies:
Paper: Tangerine Tango, Whisper White, Pool Party
Ink: Tangerine Tango, Lost Lagoon
Stamps: Whimsical Words & Mosaic Madness
Accessories: Paper piercing template & tool, Pool Party Cotton Ribbon, Top Note Die, Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder, Lost Lagoon Stampin' Write Marker

Moose

Holy MOOSE!  This card was a super duper challenge for me.  Besides the obvious which is I used an image that is completely out of my normal style, I chose to do a sketch that was challenging with an angled layer.  The sketch is this week's CAS(e) this Sketch challenge.  I'm pretty sure my card doesn't qualify as CAS, though.

This card went through so many transformations.  At first, I was going to use the tree image that is in this set... oh, the set is an ancient Stampin' Up set called Pines. The date on it is 1998.  I think I stamped and re-cut that doggone angled layer about 10 times before I finally decided it just wasn't working for me.  Originally, I had stamped the moose onto River Rock cardstock and cut him out, but I wasn't happy how it looked... I tried mounting it on an oval.. hated it, tried just placing it on the card, nope.  Finally, I just did a simple square layer with the moose.

Since I was using an ancient set, I decided to dig up some old designer paper.  This paper is called Apple Cider and I've had it forever... and I still have way more of it... ANYWAY, that led to me digging out some old embellishments.  I found a container of unopened 5/8'' neutral brads, so I threw those on there, used my scallop border punch and some trusty Chocolate Chip striped ribbon.

This card literally took me over an our to make and it serves no purpose whatsoever, but it was good to stretch my limits a little and do something different!

Oh, this is also for today's Free For All challenge on Splitcoast Stampers to use an odd number of stamps.  I used one!

Supplies:
Paper: River Rock, Close to Cocoa, Very Vanilla, Really Rust, Apple Cider DP
Stamps: Pines
Ink: Close to Cocoa
Accessories: Stampin' Dimensionals, Scallop border punch, 5/8'' neutral brads, Chocolate Chip Striped Ribbon, Linen Thread

Get Your Santa On!

Here is my card for this week's Mojo Monday Sketch!  I decided I should probably get started on some of my Christmas cards, so this was the perfect time to do it!  I loved this sketch and will definitely use it again.

The stamp I used is from the Stampin' Up set, Get your Santa On.  It is super cute, but it is retired.. of course, HAHA!

The paper is also retired.  It is called Holly Berry Bouquet.  It has some really cute glittery paper in it that I used for my background.

I stamped the Santa on watercolor paper and then colored with Stampin' Write Markers.  The stars were punched out with the small star punch.

Everything else is pretty straight forward!

Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies:
Paper: Very Vanilla, Wild Wasabi, Watercolor Paper, Holly Berry Bouquet DP
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Stamps: Get Your Santa On
Accessories: Real Red Stampin' Write Marker, Star Punch, Blush Blossom Stampin' Write Marker

Garden Vintage

Here is another card I made today at my mom's house.  We challenged each other to use this old designer paper called Walk in the Park.  For some reason, we both bought two packs of this when it came out.  I guess we thought we would run out.. HAHA!  This card only made a small dent in our stash.

I used this week's Create with Connie & Mary sketch!

Since I used some "vintage" paper, I decided to use an old stamp set called Garden Whimsy.  I've always liked this set and I think it came out really cute on this card!  The sentiment is from this year's sale-a-bration called Best Day Ever.

Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies List:
Paper: Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, So Saffron, Whisper White, Walk in the Park DP
Stamps: Garden Whimsy, Best Day Ever
Ink: Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Cameo Coral
Accessories: Stampin' Dimensionals, Decorative Dots Embossing Folder, Banner Punch, Oval Nestabilities, Scallop Oval Nestabilities

You Made My Day

Hi!  Today my mom and I had a stamp day at her house which means I get to play with some of her stamps and accessories... woo hoo!  I had a few challenges I knew that I wanted to do today.  This is the first one which is the Freshly Made Sketches challenge and the ColourQ

This week's ColourQ was a great combo: Poppy Parade, So Saffron, Coastal Cabana, and Basic Gray.  Even though it does use some retired colors, they are colors that were current during my time away from stamping (but I still bought them, of course) and I haven't used them much!  I especially love Coastal Cabana and I'm sad it isn't a current color.

Anyway!  I had a personal challenge to use whatever stamp set my 2 year old picked out.  She handed me Mosaic Madness which I have never used, but have seen some cute things with.  I decided to make my own designer paper with it.  Then, I used a Sale-a-Bration set from this year called Best Day Ever.  I didn't place an order during Sale-a-Bration this year... first time in about 6 years or more... ahh!  I will NOT let that happen again... haha!

I hope you enjoy my card!  Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies:
Paper: Basic Gray CS, Poppy Parade CS, Coastal Cabana CS, So Saffron CS, Whisper White CS
Stamps: Mosaic Madness, Best Day Ever
Ink: Poppy Parade, So Saffron, Coastal Cabana, Basic Gray

Happy Birthday

Hello!  I hope you've had a great week so far!  It is a rainy day here, so what's better than stamping?  Sydney has been subdued today and played while I made this card.  I hope she isn't getting sick!

This is for yesterday's color challenge and today's sketch challenge, both on Splitcoast Stampers.  The colors to use were Calypso Coral, So Saffron, and Wisteria Wonder.  I love this soft palette of colors!  I knew I needed to add in a green and a neutral, so I used Lucky Limeade and Soft Suede as well.

The sketch today lent itself to a scene, so I made one using the Sprinkles of Life set.  I absolutely adore this set.  It is so versatile!  All of the sentiments that come with it are pretty small and I needed on a little bigger, so I used a retired set called Warmest Regards.

I don't know what is going on, but lately I feel like my pictures aren't as crisp as they normally are.  I don't know if it's me or my camera, but it is getting on my nerves!

Supplies List
Paper: Wisteria Wonder CS, So Saffron CS, Whisper White CS, Birthday Bash DP
Ink: Lucky Limeade, Soft Suede, Wisteria Wonder, So Saffron, Calypso Coral
Stamps: Sprinkles of Life, Warmest Regards
Accessories: Tree Builder Punch, Wisteria Wonder Ruffled Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals

Christmas Critters

Happy Monday!  I hope your week is off to a great start!  I decided to put off some work and make a card.. HAHA!  This is for today's Clean & Simple challenge over on Splitcoast Stampers.  Today's challenge was to use critters on your card.  As soon as I saw it was critters, I couldn't help but pull out my Polar Party stamp set.  I'm pretty sure this set is retired, but it is one that I haven't used as much as I thought I would.  I think it's because it does require quite a bit of coloring and since Sydney came along, I have limited time, so solid images are usually faster for me.  That doesn't mean I don't enjoy coloring because I do!  I'm a little out of touch with my technique, though.

I colored the trees with a blender pen by dipping it into my Gumball Green ink pad.  I do like the watercolor effect it gave without actually watercoloring.  Everything else was colored with Stampin' Write Markers.

The penguins are stamped and cut out and popped on dimensionals.  Everything was stamped in Stazon Jet Black ink.

The paper piece is from a retired designer series paper called Snow Festival.  The ribbon is also retired and is Cherry Cobbler.  I'm not exactly sure, but I think they called it quilted ribbon.

The sketch I used is by CAS(e) this Sketch challenge from last Thursday!

Supplies List
Paper: Watercolor Paper, Snow Festival DP
Ink: Stazon Jet Black, Cherry Cobbler
Stamps: Endless Wishes, Polar Party
Accessories: Blender Pens, Stampin' Write Markers, Stampin' Dimensionals, Quilted Cherry Cobbler Ribbon

With Sympathy

I finally leave you today with the card I made this afternoon!  This is for today's Featured Stamper challenge on Splitcoast Stampers.  tjacoby98 is the Featured Stamper and I CASed this card:

She inspired me to pull out one of my most favorite sets of all time, Live Your Dream.  It will always be one of my most beloved sets.

This is also for this week's ColourQ to use Taken with Teal, Rich Razzleberry, Pumpkin Pie, Early Espresso, and Whisper White!

I pulled out some of my old designer paper and found Bali Breeze.  It was one of the only series I had left that used Taken with Teal.  I don't have any full sheets of Taken with Teal cardstock, so I used the scrap of designer paper (yay, using scraps!) and a small solid card stock piece to punch out the Modern Label layer.

I kept tjacoby98's layout pretty much exactly the same, except, I did place my sentiment in a different location.  I also changed the color scheme, and used a different sentiment.

Supplies List:
Paper: Whisper White CS, Early Espresso CS, Pumpkin Pie CS, Taken with Teal CS, Bohemian DP, Bali Breeze DP
Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Taken with Teal, Pumpkin Pie
Stamps: Live Your Dream, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Accessories: Pumpkin Pie Wide Striped Ribbon, Linen Thread, Word Window Punch, Modern Label Punch

Make a Wish!

This card is a CASe of one I found on Pinterest.  It was made by Elaine Schader, but I cannot find the original post!  I love how she used the negative image of the banner to inlay the smaller banner.  I pretty much copied her card exactly except I did use different paper and a different color scheme.

The paper I used is called Retro Fresh and is, of course, retired.  The colors used are: Tangerine Tango, Coastal Cabana, and Baked Brown Sugar.

Supplies Used:
Paper: Baked Brown Sugar CS, Coastal Cabana CS, Very Vanilla CS, Retro Fresh DP
Ink: Tangerine Tango, Coastal Cabana
Stamps: Perfect Pennants
Accessories: Banners Framelits, Bitty Banner Framelits, 3/4'' Circle Punch

A Little Kindness

This card started as a CASe, but ended up being a completely original design.  This is by far my most favorite card I've made recently.  It uses two sets: Kinda Electic which is in the main catalog and Nature's Perfection which was a Sale-A-Bration item from this past year.

The only thing I cannot claim as my own idea is the color scheme.  That came from a past ColourQ challenge to use: Bermuda Bay, Peach Parfait, Hello Honey, and So Saffron.  Trust me, I didn't know if it could be done.  BUT I LOVE IT!

Supplies List:
Paper: Bermuda Bay CS, So Saffron CS, Whisper White CS
Ink: Bermuda Bay, Hello Honey, Peach Parfait
Stamps: Kinda Eclectic, Nature's Perfection
Accessories: Oval Framelits, Butterfly Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals, Bermuda Bay Polka Dotted Ribbon, Linen Thread

Masculine Fish

Let's be honest... I struggle bad with masculine cards.  I just love flowers and butterflies so much that it is hard to spend my precious stampin' time making "manly" cards.. haha!  I went to my mom's last Friday to have a little stampin' day and I decided I needed to make at least one "manly" card.  I hopped over and saw that this week's Color Throwdown challenge would be the perfect color combination for this set.  The colors to use were: Aqua, Bright Blue, & Gray.  I translated that into Crumb Cake, Pacific Point, and Pool Party.

I also used the Mojo Monday sketch from this past week which pulled me out of my comfort zone a little with the double circle images.  I like how it came out, though.

Supplies List:
Paper: Crumb Cake CS, Pacific Point CS, Pool Party CS, Pacific Point DP, Watercolor Paper
Ink: Crumb Cake, Pool Party, Pacific Point
Stamps: By the Tide
Accessories: Circle Framelits, 1'' Circle Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals, Banner Triple Punch

Butterfly in Taupe

Whew... I'm so behind on posting my cards!  I haven't done too much stamping lately, which doesn't make sense because I've actually had a break from teaching dance.  How is it that when you have more time, you get to do less?  I don't understand!

This was made several weeks ago for the 7/28/15 color challenge on Splitcoast Stampers to use Rose Red, Mint Macaroon, and Tip Top Taupe.  It is also for the 7/28/15 sketch challenge.

The designer paper is from the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack (I love these smaller dp packs that Stampin' Up has this time).  The piece of Rose Red is from an old collection, but I cannot remember the name off the top of my head.

Supplies List
Paper: Tip Top Taupe CS, Pretty Petals Designer Paper
Ink: Rose Red & Mint Macaroon
Stamps: Butterfly Basics
Accessories: Butterfly Thinlits, Adhesive Pearls, Stampin' Dimensionals, Rose Red Grosgrain Ribbon, Tip Top Taupe Lace
