Two Card Saturday

Happy Saturday!  I hope your weekend is off to a great start!  I'm sharing two cards today.  One I actually made last Sunday, but never got around to posting it!  The other is a new one I made this morning.

I have found that my weeks are pretty busy, so I must do my stamping during the weekend.  Which is fine with me, at least I get to stamp!  I finally placed an order for new Stampin' Up stuff, so I can't wait to get that!  I mostly got holiday stuff so I can start working on my cards and such for Christmas.  We all know it will be here before we know it!

The first card (shown above) is one I made for last Sunday's Featured Stamper challenge on Splitcoast Stampers.  I chose a card that I can't find now.. typical.  HAHA!  I basically kept the same layout and clean & simple design, but I changed the stamps and colors.  I used one of my favorite sets, "Season of Friendship".  I've always loved this versatile tree.

I popped a few of the leaves up by stamping them, cutting them out, and mounting them on Stampin' Dimensionals.  The sentiment is cut with a scallop oval die cut and mounted on Stampin' Dimensionals.

Supplies List:
Paper: Whisper White
Ink: Early Espresso, Summer Starfruit, Rich Razzleberry, Cameo Coral
Stamps: Season of Friendship
Accessories: Stampin' Dimensionals, Scallop Oval Nestabilities

My next card is one I made today for this week's color and sketch challenges, both found on Splitcoast Stampers.  I again, used one of my all time favorite sets, "Live Your Dream".  I just love this image and wanted to get it out and play with it again.  It's been a while since I've used it.

The color challenge called for Blackberry Bliss & Hello Honey, both colors I don't have, so I subbed for what I thought was the closest: Rich Razzleberry and More Mustard.  I think this color combo is pretty!

The sketch was a challenge at first, just with that off center panel, but I do love how it turned out.  The little baubles on the side are probably 7-8 years old and I'm not sure I've even ever used them!  So, extra points for using old embellishments!  HAHA!

The image was colored with my Stampin' Write Markers which I believe to be a must-have for any stamper.

Supplies List:
Paper: Very Vanilla, Spice Cake DP, Rich Razzleberry DP, Rich Razzleberry, More Mustard
Stamp: Live Your Dream
Ink: (all markers) More Mustard, Rich Razzleberry, Soft Suede
Accessories: Rich Razzleberry Taffeta Ribbon, Baubles (no idea what brand they are)

Thanks for stopping by!!!  Have a great weekend!

Serene Merry Christmas

Happy Saturday!  I got a chance to stamp this morning while Sydney took a nap.  I probably should have worked on some cleaning, but I haven't been able to stamp all week and needed to get crafty!  I used this week's Splitcoast Stampers Color Challenge and Sketch Challenge to make this card. I still haven't placed my new Stampin' Up order, so I was happy to see that this week's colors were all ones I had!  I'm waiting to get my check from a consignment sale to use for my new stampin' stuff!  So far I've made $245... SCORE!  I don't know that all of that will go towards crafting, but it's nice to have a little extra cash!

It seems early to think about Christmas, but since the dessert challenge for the Color Challenge was to make a Christmas card, I decided it was a good idea.  After all, Christmas will be here before any of us can blink an eye!  I always find myself scrambling at the last minute to send out my cards, and last year I didn't even send any out because I didn't have time to stamp with a newborn.  So, here's to this year and the hopes that I at least get them sent out to my family!

I used "Serene Snowflakes" for this card, which is now retired (of course.. haha).  I stamped my "background" snowflakes in Soft Sky, then I stamped my main one in Island Indigo on the main panel.  I stamped the Cherry Cobbler and smaller Island Indigo snowflakes on Very Vanilla cardstock and cut them out by hand.  I then popped them up on dimensionals.  The sentiment is from a different retired set called "Delightful Decorations".  The designer paper is also retired and called "Be of Good Cheer".  I actually have an entire pack of this that has never been opened... not sure what I thought I would be making with that, but I have it, so maybe I'll figure out how to use it up!

Here's my complete supplies list:

Stamps: Serene Snowflakes & Delightful Decorations

Ink: Island Indigo, Soft Sky, and Cherry Cobbler

Paper: Soft Sky CS, Island Indigo CS, Very Vanilla CS, Be of Good Cheer DP

Accessories: Stampin' Dimensionals, Island Indigo Ruffled Ribbon, 3/4'' Circle Punch, 1'' Circle Punch, 1 1/4'' Circle Punch

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a terrific weekend!

Owl Extravaganza

Good morning!  I have to admit when I first saw today's sketch over on Splitcoast Stampers, I wasn't sure how I was going to make it work. The number of panels freaked me out at first.. haha!  I pulled out some new-to-me designer paper called "Snow Festival".  It's actually several years old, but I've barely used it at all.  I just love the cute little owls.  So, I started by cutting out the rectangles, then I layered coordinating paper behind it.  I originally was going to use my Owl Punch to create the owl, but this designer paper has a sheet that looks like small gift tags and this owl image was perfect.  I just cut him out and popped him on dimensionals.  The sentiment is from a retired set called "Contempo Christmas".

I had a lot of help making this card.  Miss Sydney was on a roll this morning, pulling out ribbon, designer paper, you name it.  As I try to write this post she is pushing every button she can on the laptop, so I'm sorry if something crazy appears haha!  Oh wait, we are now distracted by my cell phone... hopefully she doesn't break it!

Thank you for stopping by!

Paper: Baja Breeze, Soft Suede, Cherry Cobbler, Snow Festival DP
Ink: Cherry Cobbler
Stamps: Contempo Christmas
Accessories: Circle & Scallop Circle Nestabilities, Stampin' Dimensionals

Cheers to Summer

I know today is Tuesday, but man I really had a case of the Mondays!  I basically have been off work for over a week, so coming back to the office was ROUGH.  It took me basically all day to finish this card, then by the time I was done, it was dark out and I didn't get a very good picture.  Oh well, at least I am posting, right?

I love the "Happy Hour" set from Stampin' Up.  Although, I think it's retired now... of course.. haha!  The color challenge on Splitcoast Stampers today was to use Melon Mambo, Wild Wasabi, and Basic Gray.  The side challenge or "dessert" was to either make a non-traditional Christmas Card (I have to admit, I just can't bring myself to break out my holiday stamps yet) or to make a farewell to summer inspired card.  I went with the farewell to summer card... but I don't want to say farewell!  My definition of a great summer day is relaxing (preferably at the beach) with a cold beverage.  There's nothing better in my opinion!

The margarita is stamped once on the Whisper White layer, then I stamped it again on a scrap and cut out the drink part of it to pop it up.  The lime wedge and umbrella were also hand cut and put behind the drink.  I love how it turned out!

Paper: Whisper White, Basic Gray, Melon Mambo, Jersey Shore DP (retired), Brights Prints Pack DP
Ink: Melon Mambo, Basic Gray, Wild Wasabi
Stamps: Happy Hour
Accessories: Honeycomb Embossing Folder, Melon Mambo Marker, Stampin' Dimensionals, Linen Thread, Melon Mambo Button, Apothecary Art Framelits

Sweet Secret Garden

I'm getting used to these two post days!  This is my first time using the color Crisp Cantaloupe...  I told you I was out of the loop.  I had bought all the 2014-2015 In Colors right before Sydney was born but I haven't had time to even dig into them yet, so today was my first time!  I really love this color combination of Crisp Cantaloupe, Pear Pizzazz, Soft Sky, and Soft Suede.  It was actually the color challenge a few weeks ago over on Splitcoast Stampers. Don't even ask me about the 2015-2016 In Colors because I don't have them yet.  I know I want them, though!

My awesome Aunt and Cousin gave me some of their duplicate stamp sets and accessories.  This is one of them, "Secret Garden".  I'm pretty sure it's retired now, but it's brand new to me.  I really love how it has the coordinating Framelits that they also sent my way.  Did I mention they are AWESOME?!?

The sentiment is actually from a Papertrey Ink Set called "Everyday Button Bits".

Paper: Soft Sky, Soft Suede, Whisper White, Nursery Nest DP, 2014-2015 In Color Prints Pack
Ink: Crisp Cantaloupe, Pear Pizzazz, Soft Suede
Stamps: Secret Garden (SU), Everyday Button Bits (PTI)
Accessories: Soft Suede Polka Dotted Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals, Adhesive Pearls, Circle Nestabilities, Scallop Circle Nestabilities, Corner Rounder

Challenges this card is for:
Mojo Sketch Challenge 361
Try a New Technique Challenge 497 (Splitcoast Stampers)
Color Challenge 487 (Splitcoast Stampers)

Minecraft Birthday

I will admit... I have NO idea what Minecraft is.  I am pretty sure it's a game of some sort, but that's all I know!  Haha!  I made this card because my nephew's birthday is coming up this weekend and he's having a Minecraft party.  I figured I would see what I could come up with in my stamp room because I don't have many boy birthday cards lingering around in my stash.

I actually searched Pinterest for inspiration and CASed this card from PinkBlingCrafter.

I used my scoring tool to make a grid pattern on the Green Galore (that's right, Green Galore... a color that has been retired for eons yet I still had a full sheet of it!).  I made the face from the 1'' square punch.  The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Banners and is cut using the Bitty Banners Framelits.

I think it turned out pretty good... however, this would not be what I consider in my "style" of card making, but hopefully he will like it!

Paper: Green Galore (retired), Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Black
Stamps: Itty Bitty Banners
Accessories: Scoring Tool, Bitty Banners Framelits, Stampin' Dimensionals

I hope you are having a great Labor Day!
