Thank You {MDS}

I finally got around to designing my sister-in-law's thank you cards.  They match the invitations I sent for her baby shower which you can see here.  I went with the theme "A Little Pumpkin is on His Way".

I used My Digital Studio to make it and kept the design pretty simple.  I will take a picture of the actual cards once I get them in.  I think it always looks better after it's been printed than it does in just an image format on a screen.

If you haven't used My Digital Studio yet, I would highly suggest the free 30 day trial.  You can get more information on the program here!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to have more projects to share with you soon!  It's the holiday season, so I need to get in my craft room and start creating!

Have a great day!

Welcome Little Pumpkin

Today I threw a baby shower for my sister-in-law.  I finally had an excuse to do some crafting!  It was really fun to put together and I think everyone had a great time.  Most everything I did was inspired from Pinterest (of course!).  I just wanted to share some things I did.  I utilized My Digital Studio to max potential!
This was the table that I had the cupcake cake, in the shape of a pumpkin and then a onsie for guests to sign, games (Baby Gift Bingo & Wishes for the Little Pumpkin) and favors.
I reused this cute carriage that actually held flowers at my own baby shower.  I gave the guests pocket sized hand sanitizers from Bath & Body Works with a little tag that said, "Thank you for showering **** and baby ****.  Here is a little gift so you can hold the Little Pumpkin when he arrives!"

I made the Wishes for the Little Pumpkin pages in My Digital Studio which I thought turned out so cute!
I also used My Digital Studio to make these cute Baby Gift Bingo cards!  Guests filled out the squares with gifts they thought the mom-to-be would open and they marked them off as she opened.  First one to bingo got a prize!
I also did this onsie with My Digital Studio and used Iron On Transfer paper.  As the guests arrived, they signed it as a cute souvenir for the Mommy-to-be.
Ok, this cake was actually a HUGE fluke.  I went into the grocery store to order a cake.  I looked down in the bakery case and there sat a PUMPKIN CUPCAKE CAKE!  WHAT?!?!  I had to get it.  I made my own banner using... My Digital Studio!  I think it came out really cute and was definitely the perfect cake for the occasion!

I didn't get a picture of the food table, but I thought I would share the menu and recipes.  Everything turned out great and was super easy!

  • Ham Biscuits (I just used Hawaiian Rolls, Dijon Mustard, Swiss Cheese and baked them in foil at 350 degrees for 30 mins)
  • Nacho Dip, recipe HERE (I actually put mine in the oven for about 20 mins at 350 degrees to melt the cheese.. mmmm)
  • Crockpot Mac & Cheese, recipe HERE  (can't go wrong with Paula Deen)
  • Veggie Tray
  • Pumpkin Bread Muffins, recipe HERE (I made mine in muffin cups instead of bites)
  • Pumpkin Fluff Dip & Graham Cracker Sticks, recipe HERE
Bottom line... My Digital Studio is awesome and you should order it!  It is so easy to use and creating custom products is too fun!  Make sure you also check out the invitation I made using it, found HERE!

A Little Pumpkin... {I'm Back}

Wow!  It has been a loooong time since I've updated my blog.  I think I have a pretty good excuse, though!  My baby girl was born on July 9th!  I have been busy adjusting to motherhood and going back to work, so my crafting time has been limited.  I hope to get back to crafting more now that things are starting to settle down and my family is in somewhat of a routine!

I am hosting my sister-in-law's baby shower and I wanted to share with you the invitation I made using My Digital Studio!  I just love using MDS to create fun, personalized things.  I had looked at invitations on Etsy and thought, I could make something just as good!  I kind of CASed an idea I saw on there using the pumpkin theme, seeing as her shower is in November.  I'm planning on using this theme for the decorations as well and hope to use MDS to make those too!

I used the postcard option in MDS.  This is a 5x7 sized card.

Products Used:
Afternoon Tea Digital Kit (#129928) - for the background paper
Holiday Blitz Brush Stamp Set - for the pumpkins, I think this is included in your MDS download
Curly Label Punch - Part of the Punch Shapes Digital Download and is also included in your MDS download (#118853)

You can order Stampin' Up from me 24/7!

Thanks from Baby & Me

Hello!  How do you like the new look of my blog?  I figured it was time for a change!  Hope you like it!

Today's card is for a sketch I found over on the In{k}spire Me blog.  I've never played in any of their challenges, but I thought this was a fun sketch.  I feel that my designer paper hasn't been getting much love lately, so I decided to feature some as the main image for this card.  The designer paper I showcased is the Sprinkled with Love designer paper that was in the Spring Catalog.  Unfortunately, it is no longer available and the saddest part is this is the FIRST time I am cutting into it.  Ugh, you can tell I have been busy.

The sentiment, however, is still available and is found in the Cuddles & Kisses stamp set (#127314 clear / #131913 wood).

Supplies List:
Paper: Bashful Blue Cardstock (retired), Melon Mambo Cardstock, Whisper White Cardstock, Marina Mist Cardstock, Sprinkled with Love Designer Paper (retired)

Ink: Melon Mambo

Stamps: Cuddles & Kisses (#127314 clear / #131913 wood)

Accessories: Linen Thread, Stampin' Dimensionals, Bitty Banners Framelits, Marina Mist Taffeta Ribbon (retired), Basic Rhinestones, Scallop Oval Die (non-SU)

Cuddles & Kisses $18.95 clear / $25.95 wood

Baby Steps

Hello!  Wow, it's been quite a while since I've posted.  The good news is, I have been stamping, but it's been what I would call "required" projects and I just haven't had time to post.  I am now in the waiting game phase of my pregnancy... my due date is this Sunday June 30th, but I have decided this kid isn't wanting to come out any time soon and I am probably going to go late.  Ugh.

To pass the time, I've been in my stamp room.  Since we've had expenses related to the baby, I haven't gotten ANY new supplies from the 2013-2014 main catalog... not even the new color paper and ink.  Wow, I'm a bad demonstrator!  I just have a hard time spending money on that right now when we've had so much other stuff to buy.  Hopefully, I can get a small order in soon.  For now, I am just using some old supplies.

I decided to make a baby card this afternoon.  I figured I may need a few more than what I made for my shower gifts to send people who may bring the baby a gift after she is born.  I borrowed this cute single stamp, Baby Steps from my mom and I paired it with long ago retired paper called Good Neighbor.  It was a sale-a-bration item several years ago and it does have some cute patterns in it.  It actually features the returning color Bermuda Bay, so I guess you could say that's my one "new" item I used here.

Paper: Whisper White, Pretty in Pink (retired), Good Neighbor DP (retired)
Ink: Melon Mambo, Pretty in Pink (retired)
Stamps: Baby Steps (retired)
Accessories: Labels Collection Framelits, Bermuda Bay Polka Dotted Ribbon (retired), Stampin' Dimensionals, Sponge Daubers

Margarita Thank You

Hello!  It's been quite a while since I've updated.  Things have been busy with the end of the dance competition regional season, the end of my pregnancy, and getting ready for recital that is next week!  Unfortunately, I haven't even had a chance to sit down and flip through the new Stampin' Up catalog to mark what I want to order, much less order anything new, so I am at the mercy of what I have in my stamp room (which is a lot that I need to use up anyway!).

I always put together little gifts for my staff, graduating seniors and volunteers which means I need a lot of Thank You cards.  Here is one design I made this morning using the Happy Hour Set, the Itty Bitty Banners Set, and the banner from Hearts a Flutter.  The designer paper is the retiring Brights Designer Series Paper Collection and the ribbon is previously retired Polka Dotted Melon Mambo.

I kept the design pretty simple and actually made four of these this morning.  I think it came out pretty cute and I was able to make four of them in under 1 hour which isn't too bad!

Supplies Used:
Paper: Old Olive (#100702), Melon Mambo (#115320), Whisper White (#100730), Designer Series Paper Stack in Brights (#117155)*

Ink: Old Olive (#126953), Melon Mambo (#126948)

Stamps: Happy Hour (#126640 wood / #126642 clear), Itty Bitty Banners (#126255 wood / #126257 clear), Hearts a Flutter (#129249 wood / #129252 clear)

Accessories: Hearts a Flutter Framelit Dies (#130159), Bitty Banner Framelit Die (#129267), 1 3/4'' Scallop Punch (#119854), Melon Mambo Polka Dotted Ribbon (previously retired)

Designer Hello

My next card for today features three of the great colors that will be staying with us longer as they have been added to a color family for the Color Refresh!  I am so excited that Pool Party and Lucky Limeade are staying and Calypso Coral is also a great addition!

This card features the new Photopolymer Stamp Set, Designer Typeset.  Photopolymer stamps are truly clear stamps.  From my past experience, I have never liked the non-rubber clear stamps, but Stampin' Up has done their research and these stamps stamp GREAT!  The best part is that they are manipulable which means you can move them on your block.  For instance, I made my banner curved by putting it on my clear block curved.

This color scheme actually comes directly from the Stampin' Up blog where they issued a challenge to use Basic Gray, Lucky Limeade, Pool Party, and Calypso Coral.

I just love how this turned out!

Paper: Whisper White (#100730), Lucky Limeade (#122926)
Ink: Basic Gray (#126981), Pool Party (#126982)
Stamps: Designer Typeset (#132956)
Accessories: Stampin' Write Markers 2011-2013 In Color (#123002), Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (#129378), Rhinestone Basic Jewels (#119246), Scallop Edge Border Punch (#119882), Stampin' Dimensionals (#104430), Calypso Coral 3/8'' Ruffled Ribbon (#122976)

Rain or Shine

Hello!  With the recent announcement of the Color Refresh, I thought it would be fun to visit some of the colors that won't be returning in the new catalog.  The last day to order any of the ink, paper, or accessories in these colors is June 3rd, but many will become sold out before then.  I suggest you place your order for any of these colors as soon as possible, and why not during the FREE SHIPPING promotion April 6-8th?

For this card, I used three of the Subtles that will be retiring: Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue, and Certainly Celery.  I also used this week's sketch from Freshly Made Sketches

This is a fairly simple card using the Rain or Shine set from the Spring Catalog!  It's such a cute set.

I used the Basic Pearls as accents on both the sentiment and the umbrella image.  The image panels were cut out using the Labels Collection Framelits.  The ribbon is Pretty in Pink Taffeta and has already been retired (sorry).

Certainly Celery (#105125), Pretty in Pink (#100459), Bashful Blue (#105120)
Ink: Pretty in Pink (#126955) & Basic Black (#126980)
Stamps: Rain or Shine (#126775 wood / #126777 clear)
Accessories: Cloudy Day Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (#127022), Labels Collection Framelits (#125598), Pearl Basic Jewels (#119247), Pretty in Pink Taffeta Ribbon (previously retired)

Color Refresh & Free Shipping!

Announcing our Color Refresh! We love color and we know that you do too. Color is fundamental to who we are and what we offer. It's important for us to stay up-to-date with color trends so we are thrilled to share our updated line of colors, and hope you will be as excited as we are by the new possibilities!

Why now? In 2010 we did a big color renovation and shared our plans for smaller color refreshes every three to five years to keep our colors on trend. Well it has been three years and we are excited to announce that the upcoming 2013-2014 annual catalog will include 10 new colors (most of which are returning In Colors from previous years)! We are welcoming back some of your favorites, moving some colors around, and introducing one brand-new color, so take a look!

Beginning on April 4, 2013, all retiring/discontinued color products (i.e. ink, paper, ribbon, accessories, etc.) will be available only while supplies last. This means that some products will not be available through the retired list period. We did anticipate increased demand and based our forecasts for these retiring colors on historical sales information from previous color transitions.

And also announced today, free shipping is going on April 6-8, 2013, which would be a great time for you to get your favorites before they are gone! (Free shipping is for North America only.)
