Trendy Thank You!

Well, I've had an interesting morning. For some reason my laptop wireless hasn't been working right. My husband tried to fix it this morning before he went to work. He got it going and then 1 minute after he left it started acting crazy again. Of course, I tried to fix it myself and now it's worse than it was before... uggggh! Lucikly he is a computer programmer, so hopefully he won't be too mad at me and can get it back up and running!

Today's card is for the sketch challenge over on Splitcoast Stampers and for the Color Throwdown.

The throwdown was to use Basic Gray, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, and Really Rust. I had a hard time getting the Really Rust onto my card, but as you can see I made it work!

This is for sure not my favorite card I've made recently, but I don't think it came out too bad. I wish I had done something different with the ribbon, but oh well!

Color Dare #36!

It's Wednesday and that means there's a new Color Dare! Head on over and join in!

The colors this week are:
Barely Banana
Creamy Caramel
Bermuda Bay

I pulled out my Fun & Fast Notes stamp set for this card. I have only used this set a few times. I don't know why I don't reach for it more often because it has cute images for almost any occasion!

The image is stamped on watercolor paper and then colored with Stampin' Write markers.

I used So Saffron ribbon because I don't have any Barely Banana! It matches though, right? HAHA!

Here are my details:

Card Details:
Paper:
Barely Banana (#102701), Creamy Caramel (#102514), Close to Cocoa (#101341), Watercolor Paper (#105019), Thoroughly Modern Designer Paper (#115673)

Pink Season of Joy!

Hi everyone! I hope your week has gotten off to a good start... mine has been pretty good so far!

Today's card is for two challenges.... one is for the Splitcoast Stampers color challenge to use Basic Gray, Pretty in Pink, and Sage Shadow.

It's also for Mercy's Sketch challenge! Her sketch was great for getting me out of my box because I never make these long cards that fit in business envelopes. The kicker is that I have TONS of business envelopes laying around that I could use up!

The color challenge was the perfect opportunity for me to use up some of my old Wintergreen designer paper! I feel like I sort of made a dent in it... but definitely not enough because I still have TONS of it left! I'm trying though!

I pulled out one of my favorite Christmas sets of all time, Season of Joy. You just can't make a bad card with this set... it's just too cute! The best part is that it's still current and available to order, so if you don't have it, I recommend it! You won't be sorry that you ordered it, I promise!

Card Details:
Paper:
Whisper White (#100730), Basic Gray (#108692), Pretty in Pink (#100459), Wintergreen Designer Paper (retired)

Stamps: Season of Joy (#110384)

Ink: Pretty in Pink (#101301), Basic Gray (#109120), Sage Shadow (#102532)

Accessories: Sage Shadow 1/4'' Grosgrain Ribbon (#111369), Scallop Border Punch (#112091), Stampin' Dimensionals (#104430), Adhesive Rhinestones (non-su)

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Holly Jolly Dasher

Happy Monday morning! It's kind of cool here today, I'm actually sitting here in a jacket because I was freezing when I got up this morning! Today is supposed to be the warmest of the week I think... tomorrow is supposed to be windy and the high only 61.. YIKES! Fall is really setting in. This brought me to the realization that I better get going on some Christmas cards if I am going to have enough to send out!

I love the Mojo Monday sketch this week, it's different and really fun!

I am STILL trying to use up my old Christmas designer paper... ugh, I want to buy new SOOOOO bad, but I am trying to resist! I used Figgy Pudding by Basic Grey that I won in a contest last year. It has some cute designs, kind of a whimsical look mixed with shabby chic.

I pulled out Dasher, my favorite new stamp of the year I think.. haha! The sentiment is from the Level 2 Hostess set, Christmas Punch!

The colors in the designer paper went perfectly with some retired in-colors... Cranberry Crisp from 2007, Baja Breeze & Kiwi Kiss from 2009. So, I got to knock out some old in color cardstock as well as some dp!

Card Details:
Paper:
Baja Breeze (retired), Kiwi Kiss (retired), Cranberry Crisp (retired), Very Vanilla (#101650), Figgy Pudding DP (Basic Grey)

Stamps: Dasher (#116816), Christmas Punch (#115336, hostess)

Ink: Cranberry Crisp (retired)

Accessories: Black Jumbo Eyelet (non-su), Adhesive Rhinestones (non-su), Kiwi Kiss Striped Ribbon (retired), Curly Label Punch (#112208)

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Out of the Box - Masculine!

Look, I made another Out of the Box card! This time I went masculine which I almost NEVER do!

I actually like how this came out... who knew? HAHA!

Card Details:
Paper:
Very Vanilla (#101650), Close to Cocoa (#101341), More Mustard (#100946), Always Artichoke Patterns Designer Paper (retired), Summer Picnic Dp (retired)

TFL!

Out of the Box!

Hi! Happy Thursday! Today's Ways to Use it Challenge over on Splitcoast Stampers was to go out of the box and make a card that was outside of our comfort zone.

I tend to make elaborate card with a lot of layers and embellishments, so I thought today I would make a Clean & Simple card! It was really hard for me not to add layers to the main card layer and to not bling up Dasher!

I am really happy with how this came out though. I got the inspiration for the sketch from this fun blog called clean&simple! You should check it out! She has some great sketches for those of you who love to create CAS, or if you're like me and have a hard time toning down your layers and embellishments!

As I have said before, I am restricting myself from buying any new Christmas paper as I have TONS of retired paper sitting in my paper container. This is some old dp called Wintergreen.... and I have like 2 packs of it! *sigh* It will eventually get used up! HAHA! This shouldn't keep you from looking at the great Christmas Designer Paper Stampin' Up has in their main catalog & in the Holiday mini... some really cute stuff there!

Card Details:
Paper:
Whisper White (#100730), Chocolate Chip (#102847), Sage Shadow (#101563), Wintergreen dp (retired)

Stamps: Dasher (#116816), Teeny Tiny Wishes (#115370)

Ink: Chocolate Chip (#100908)

Accessories: Sage Shadow 1'4'' Grosgrain Ribbon (#111369), Designer Label Punch (#107590), 1'' Circle Punch (#109046), Word Window Punch (#105090), Cuttlebug Border Embossing Folder (non-su)

*As always you can buy any current Stampin' Up products in my online store!

Have a great day!

Back to Two Card Wednesdays!

I am so happy to be back with my Two Card Wednesday! It's been a while since I've had two cards to show you! I hope my new schedule continues to allow me to bring two new cards each Wednesday... although I'm sure there will be some weeks that I won't be able to!

My first card is for today's Sketch Challenge over on Splitcoast Stampers and for today's Color Throwdown to use Rose Red, Old Olive, More Mustard, and Chocolate Chip (you could also use Regal Rose, but it didn't make it into my design).

To give the card more "pop", I mounted all the layers with dimensionals. You can't really see this from the photo, but it does give it a lot more dimension and interest. This definitely won't be a card I will be mailing... the postage would be outrageous! HAHA!

Card #1 Details:
Paper:
Whisper White (#100730), Chocolate Chip (#102128), Autumn Vine Dp (retired), Summer Picnic Dp (retired), Throughly Modern Dp (#115673)

Stamps: Season of Friendship (#111776), Teeny Tiny Wishes (#115370)

Ink: Chocolate Chip (#100908), Old Olive (#102277), More Mustard (#103162), Rose Red (#101778)

Accessories: Hodgepodge Hardware (#111325), Rose Red 1/4'' Grosgrain Ribbon (#111366), Small Oval Punch (#107304), Stampin' Dimensionals (#104430)

My second card today is for today's Color Dare color challenge to use Lavender Lace, Green Galore, and Very Vanilla.

I have to be honest and say these are not colors I would normally gravitate to, but I do like how this turned out!

I added black to ground the colors a little bit... it added a little more contrast which I think is what this color combo needed.

Card #2 Details:
Paper:
Green Galore (#101768), Basic Black (#102851), Very Vanilla (#101650), Lavender Lace (#101614), Rainbow Sherbert Dp (retired)

Stamps: Sincere Salutations (#115068), For All You Do (#115360)

Ink: Basic Black (#101179), Green Galore (#102122)

Accessories: Sheer Black Polka Dotted Ribbon (non-su)

*Remember, all current Stampin' Up products can be bought in my store, 24/7!

I hope you have a wonderful day! Thanks for stopping by!

I'm back!!! I'm back!!!

Hey everyone! I am finally back on some kind of "normal" schedule... whatever normal is!!

Last week was the first week of fall classes at the studio and enrollment is out the roof! It's crazy, so needless to say, last week I was really overwhelmed and didn't have time to create. I am so happy to be back today!

Today's color challenge over on Splitcoast Stampers is Crushed Curry, Rich Razzleberry, and Basic Black. I keep saying that you can't go wrong with the 09-10 in colors and I think this combo once again shows that they rock!

The sketch is Mercy's Tuesday Sketch which is super cute!

There's nothing too elaborate about this card as it is my first one after about a 2-3 week absence. It's always hard to get back into the groove when you've been out of it for so long!

Card Details:
Paper:
Crushed Curry (#115319), Rich Razzleberry (#115316), Basic Black (#102851), Whisper White (#100730), Razzleberry Lemonade (#115675)

Stamps: For All You Do (#115360)

Ink: Crushed Curry (#115659), Rich Razzleberry (#115658), Basic Black (#101179)

Accessories: Crushed Curry Polka Dotted Ribbon (#115614), Corner Rounder (#109047), Stampin' Dimensionals (#104430), Adhesive Rhinestones (non-su)

I hope you have a fantastic day and I'm so glad you stopped by! I promise no more long absences for a while!!

Watercolored Flower Fancy!

Hi everyone! Today is a much less-hectic day for me! Yesterday I was meeting my dad for lunch and I didn't have time to really go into detail on my card. If you have any questions about yesterday's card, please let me know and I will be glad to supply you with information!

Today's card is for several challenges....
#1 My Favorite Things Sketch found on Cindy's Blog!

#2 Color Throwdown to use Regal Rose, Always Artichoke, and Chocolate Chip!

#3 365 Cards challenge to use a label!

I had found a card on Splitcoast Stampers that used the Flower Fancy set.... a set that sometimes I have a hard time knowing what to do with. I knew when I saw her card that I wanted to give Flower Fancy another shot! You can see the card I used as my inspiration here!

I'm not going to lie, this card took a long time to make... probably an hour or so. I do feel like it was worth it and I had fun making it!

I stamped my images, then watercolored them with Stampin' Write Markers and an Aqua Painter. This is my favorite method when watercoloring because it's easy to shade. After I watercolored, I cut out my images... this is what took so long!!

I mounted all of the flower images on dimensionals and then glued the leaves down with mono adhesive.

The rest is pretty self explanatory!

Card Details:
Paper: Whisper White (#100730), Chocolate Chip (#102128), Always Artichoke (#105119), Always Designer Paper (retired), Always Artichoke Patterns Designer Paper (retired)

Stamps: Flower Fancy (#111578) and Teeny Tiny Wishes (#115370)

Ink: Always Artichoke (#105219), Stazon Jet Black (#101406)

Accessories: Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware (#111325), Pretty in Pink Taffeta Ribbon (#109067), Regal Rose Stampin' Write Marker (#105108), Chocolate Chip Stampin' Write Marker (#100071), Pretty in Pink Stampin' Write Marker (#100045), Always Artichoke Stampin' Write Marker (#105113), Stampin' Dimensionals (#104430), Adhesive Pearls (non-su), Circle Nestabilities (non-su)

Color Dare #32!

I am running short on time this morning, but I wanted to share my card for today's Color Dare with you!

I hope you can play along! The colors are: Bermuda Bay, So Saffron, & Cameo Coral!

I love how bright and fun these colors are together!!

I will write more details on this card when I have more time today!

Thanks for stopping by!
