Verve Visual's May Project Parade!

Verve Visual's May Project Parade is almost over, so I had to get my rear into gear and get my card done! You can see the challenge here!

We were to use the colors so saffron, pumpkin pie, soft sky, cameo coral and then the old olive was optional. We were also allowed to use any neutrals, I chose white & black!

This card took many forms... it started out as one layout and turned up to be this one. I added "faith" dots to give it more pizazz. The flowers were originally not going to be 3d, but then I smudged some old olive ink and I had to cover it up! It ended up making my card better... haha! TFL!

Here are the basic details:
Paper: Old Olive, Basic Black, Cameo Coral, So Saffron, Summer Picnic DP, So Saffron DP, Fall Flowers DP (All SU!)
Ink: Old Olive, Soft Sky, Cameo Coral (All SU!)
Stamps: Petals & Stems (Verve Visual)
Accessories: Brads (Making Memories), Signo White Gel Pen, Zig Black Pen, Pop Up Dots (Glue Dots)

Hmmm... Vacation?

Today's challenge on Splitcoast Stampers was to make a card using a traveling or packing theme. I went with traveling... loosely... traveling to the beach! It's one of my favorite places to go, so I figured this would work.

I bought these really cute $1 clear stamps from AC Moore not long ago and decided to use them on my card.

I am really not sure I am totally happy with how this came out, but I guess it works.

The main images are embossed with clear embossing powder to give them the glossy look. The images are all colored with markers and blender pens!

Here are the basic details:

Paper: Really Rust, Tempting Turquoise, Bashful Blue, So Saffron (SU!), Watercolor paper (Strathmore), DP (unknown vendor)

Ink: Stazon black

Stamps: Studio G $1 clear stamps

Accessories: Markers (SU!), Blender Pens (SU!), Crop-a-Dile (We R Memory Keepers), Brads (Making Memories), Jumbo Eyelet (SU!), Ribbon (Must be Sold by the Spool), Ultra Thick Clear Embossing Powder (Ranger)

TFL!

Fluttering By!

I finally got to stamp today... yay! Here is what I made for two different challenges over on Splitcoast Stampers. The first was the color challenge from yesterday to use Sage Shadow, Chocolate Chip, & Very Vanilla. I really wasn't sure about the color combo at first, but I really love how it came out! The other challenge was today's sketch challenge by Amber! I really enjoyed playing with this sketch, it was a fun one!

I used the Cuttlebug negative effect technique for my background. It was a past technique challenge and it's really easy and gives great depth to your cards. All you have to do is ink up the negative side of the Cuttlebug embossing folder (the one that has the logo on it) with the ink of your choice and then run your paper through! It's that easy??? I love it!

Here are more details for you:

Cardstock: Sage Shadow, Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip (All SU!)
Ink: Chocolate Chip (SU!)
Stamps: Fluttering By (Verve Visual)
Accessories: Brads (Making Memories), Ribbon (Satin Sensation), Dimensionals (Glue Dots)

Thanks for looking and have a great Wednesday!!!

YAY - New Stamps!

I got my new Verve Visual stamps in the mail yesterday! I was so excited because I really didn't expect them until next week some time!

Their shipping was SUPER fast!

A few notes about them... I was a little hesitant at first to purchase them because they are clear acrylic stamps. I only own the Classic Ink from SU! and on my other clear stamps the classic ink does not work well. It beads up and stuff. I was told that the classic ink works great on Verve's stamps... so I took the dive and they do GREAT with the classic ink! I was so excited!

Today's featured stamper on Splitcoast Stampers was Peanutbee! I love her gallery and I chose this card to CASE! I changed the stamp set, the colors, and I added ribbon! I kept the same layout because it was too cute!

Here are the details!
Paper: Whisper White, Wild Wasabi, Chocolate Chip, Cameo Coral (all SU!)
Ink: Cameo Coral, Wild Wasabi, Close to Cocoa (all SU!)
Accessories: Scallop Circle Punch (SU!), 1 3/8'' Circle Punch (SU!), Ribbon (Satin Sensations), Signo Gel Pen
Thanks for looking and have a great Sunday!

Father's Day

Today's challenge on splitcoast was to make a masculine card. This is definately NOT my strong point, but I did need to make one more Father's Day card.

I combined this with Julee's Mojo Sketch #38 which can be found here.

I pulled out this Snoopy stamp set that my DH got me for Christmas this year. I hadn't used it very much, so I thought it should get some love!

Here are the details:
Paper: Real Red, Whisper White, More Mustard, Tempting Turquoise, Wild Wasabi, East Coast Prep Dp (all SU!)
Ink: Stazon Jet Black (Stazon), More Mustard, Wild Wasabi, Real Red (SU!)
Stamps: Snoopy (Stampabilities), Alphabet (Stamp Craft)
Accessories: Signo Gel Pen (uni-ball), Black marker (Zig), Oval cutting system (Creative Memories), Brads (Making Memories), Ribbon (Must be Sold-By-Spool), Blender Pens (SU!), Cuttlebug embossing folder (provo craft)
TFL!!!!

Wonderful Wednesday...

This is a double challenge card! Since I was unable to stamp yesterday, I combined the sketch and color challenges together! Both challenges are on Splitcoast Stampers, check them out!

The color challenge was to use blue bayou, soft sky, and certainly celery. I really liked this combo! Especially since I always forget to use blue bayou!!!

I bought a new die for my Cuttlebug yesterday at A.C. Moore and I used it to cut out the flowers. I believe the die is just called "flowers". So, since i used the cut-outs as my main image, there is NO stamping on this card! WOW! HAHA!

Here are the other details:
Cardstock: Blue Bayou, Soft Sky, Certainly Celery, Whisper White, Fall Flowers DP, Celery DP (All SU!)
Accessories: Silver brads (American Crafts), Rhinestone brads (SU!), Satin ribbon (Satin Sensations), Cuttlebug embossing folders - swirls & swiss dots, Cuttlebug die - flowers.

Thanks for looking and I hope you have a great day!

Can You Believe It????

Well, I have definately been busy today! It has been so great to finally have time to sit down and just stamp!!! This is the first weekend in over a month that I have had basically a free weekend!

Today has been kind of dreary and DH has been doing some stuff for work, so that means I have gotten to stamp... A LOT!!!

I have had this idea for a set of notecards using Just Celebrate for a while. I just hadn't had the time until now to sit down and put it together!

I used ALL scrap designer paper on these, most of the dp is from SU, but some isn't (the elephant and butterfly aren't SU). I went with a very simple layout with no special embellishments. This was hard for me because I always want to slap on ribbon and brads! I will probably give this set of cards to my Granny, she always loves writing notes to her friends and I know she would be greatful not to have to go to the store and buy cards. Plus, I enjoyed making them!

Here are all of the cards individually in case you want a closer look!

Another Sunday Card...

So, I'm on a roll this morning and since DH is sleeping in, I thought I would do another card! This started off as a CASE of Dawnsing's card, but kind of morphed into my own.

I used my new die-cut flowers from Stampin Up and ran them through my cuttlebug w/ the swiss dots folder to give them more dimension.

The designer paper is a scrap of summer picnic that I had laying around and the sentiment is from "Friendship Blooms" SAB set.

Basic details:
Paper: Bashful Blue, Real Red, Summer Picnic DP (all SU!)

Stamps: Friendship Blooms (SU!)

Accessories: Die cut flowers (SU!), Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Folder, Wide Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon (SU!), Rhinestone Brad (unknown vendor)

TFL!

FS67 - Dawnsing

Today's featured stamper on Splitcoast Stampers was Dawnsing, you can see her gallery Here!

She has a lot of great designs to drool over! I picked this card to CASE because I loved the color combo and the layout.

I thought it would be PERFECT for a Tart & Tangy summertime card! So, that's what I made! It was very simple to put together and I really love how it turned out!

The basic rules for the Featured Stamper challenge are to change at least 2 things. I changed the DP, the sentiment, and the main focal image. What do you think? I love how it came out!

Basic Details:
Paper: Pink Passion, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Jersey Shore DP (all SU!)
Ink: Pumpkin Pie
Stamps: Tart & Tangy (SU!)
Accessories: Scallop Circle Punch (SU!), 1 3/8'' circle punch(SU!), 1 1/4'' circle punch (Paper Shapers), A Perfect Day Rub-Ons (SU!), Ribbon (American Crafts), Brad (Making Memories)
TFL!

Limited Supplies, DAD!

Today's challenge on Splitcoast was to make a card using alphabet stamps for the sentiment which would be the main image. I chose to make a Father's Day card because I know it's going to sneak up on me! My studio's dance recital is the same weekend, so it's going to be crazy!

This card is pretty simple... I just stamped the letters on white, then matted it in several different colors to make it pop more. Then I added the brads, it was really really simple!

Well, unfortunately my house is in BAD need of cleaning, so I guess I have to go do that now! I hope you enjoy your Friday and weekend!

Details:

Cardstock: Whisper White, Wild Wasabi, Brilliant Blue, Soft Sky, Pumpkin Pie, Jersey Shore DP (all SU!)

Stamps: Letterpress Alphabet (SU!)

Embellishments: Brads

Kitty Inchies!

Ok, so today's challenge on Splitcoast Stampers was to make a card using INCHIES! I have NEVER used or made inchies before, but bascially they are just little 1'' squares. I cheated and use 1 1/4'' squares because my kitty image was a little too big for the 1'' and I wanted to use it!

The images are from Studio G and were in the $1 bin at A.C. Moore. Since the images are somewhat small, this was the perfect challenge for them!!!

Here are the basic details:

Cardstock: Watercolor Paper (Strathmore), Brillant Blue, Wild Wasabi, Soft Sky, Pumpkin Pie (SU!), Jersey Shore DP (SU!)

Embellishments: Striped Pumpkin Pie Ribbon (SU!)

Tools: 1 1/4'' Square Punch (Creative Memories), 1 1/2'' Square Punch (Creative Memories), Cuttlebug, Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Swiss Dots

Have a great Thursday!

Cherry Sketch

So, I feel like I lost my mojo on this one... ack!!! I used today's sketch challenge on Splitcoast Stampers for the layout of this. I will be sending this card to my secret pal for the s'talker's "spring fling" on SCS.

I embossed the background w/ the Swiss Dots embossing folder on my Cuttlebug. I colored the cherry stamp w/ my SU markers, stamped off once, and then stamped on my image to make the faded look.

The sentiment is from a clear stamp set that I received by EK Success.

Here are more details:
Stamps: Tart & Tangy (SU!), Easter Clear Stamp Set (EK Success)
Paper: Bashful Blue, Old Olive, Real Red, Whisper White, Summer Picnic DP (all SU!)
Embellishments: Old Olive Wide Grosgrain Ribbon (SU!), Bashful Blue Striped Ribbon (SU!), Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon (SU!), Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing Folder, Brads (unknown vendor)
I hope you have a great Wednesday!!!

Happy Monday!

Hi everyone, I hope you had a great weekend! Mine was pretty good... it started out on Saturday morning w/ a very sucessful pancake breakfast fundraiser for my youth dance company. The kids ran almost all of it! It was really funny seeing 8 year olds taking orders and bringing out plates... just too cute! Of course the older kids were helping them, but overall it was fun and we raised a lot of money!

Saturday evening DH and I went to see "Forgetting Sarah Marshall"... it was HILARIOUS! I recommend it if you are wanting to see a really funny movie!

Sunday I spent the day with my mom and grandmother which was very nice.

Anyway, here is my card for today. It's for Beate's weekend sketch challenge #47, found here... Weekend Sketch Challenge. It is also for the technique challenge on Splitcoast Stampers to emboss and then WATERCOLOR.. I obviously can't read because I colored my image with a Stampin' Up Marker! Whooops! I'm a cheater!

Here are the basic details:

Stamps: Embrace Life

Cardstock: Taken w/ Teal, River Rock, Whisper White (All SU!)

Embellishments: Rhinestone Brads (SU!), Black Grosgrain Ribbon (American Crafts), Black Embossing Powder (Ranger), Taken w/ Teal Marker (SU), Swiss Dots Cuttlebug Embossing Folder

Tools: Oval Cutting System (Creative Memories), Cuttlebug

Have a great day!

Bling Cupcakeabella!

Ok, today's challenge on splitcoast was to use chipboard on a card. I RARELY use chipboard, so this was a good challenge for me. I don't have much of it, but luckily I found some of these chipboard flowers. I've had them for a while, so I was excited to use them! They were plain, so I covered them in glitter!

This card took me FOREVER for some reason!!!
The layout was inspired by SheetLoad's May sketch. I changed it slightly because I thought Bella looked cute on an angle!

I ran out of watercolor paper, so I had to use normal Whisper White. I have gotten so used to coloring on watercolor that I hated going back, the color just isn't as good. I guess I'll have to make a run to Michael's or AC Moore today to get more because I do love that stuff!

Bella's dress is paper pieced, I loooove that technique!

Here are the basic details:
Cardstock : Orchid Opulence, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Whisper White (all SU!)
Stamps: Cupcakeabella (Bella Stamps), Birthday Whimsy (SU!)
Emebellishments: Brads (making memories), Chipboard (making memories), glitter (unknown vendor), markers (SU!), Designer Paper (DCWV)
Ink: Stazon Jet Black, Orchid Opulence (SU!)
Tools: Sponge Daubers (SU!)
Technique: Paper Piecing
TFL and have a great day!!!

So Very Tangy

So, today's sketch on Splitcoast Stampers was a tough one for me!!! I finally came up with something I am okay with, not sure I really like it, but oh well!!

I used the Real Red & Old Olive marker to color and stamp the strawberry from Tart & Tangy. I pulled out my unloved set, "So Very" for the sentiment.

Here are the details:

Cardstock: Certainly Celery, Real Red, Bashful Blue, Whisper White (All SU!)

Embelishments: Silver Brads (Making Memories), Rhinestone Brad (Making Memories), Ribbon (Made w/ Love by Michael's)

Stamps: Tart & Tangy, So Very (SU!)

Tools: Oval Cutting System (Creative Memories)

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!

Shout Out to SheetLoad!

Mother's Day...

Here is my card for today's color challenge on Splitcoast Stampers, to use Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery, and Lovely Lilac. I really looooved this color combination!!

The layout is from Julee's blog,
http://poeticartistry.blogspot.com/. She has some great layouts, you should check it out!

If you're wondering what I have been up to.. here goes.... this past weekend was a little crazy. On Saturday my brother graduated from college, it was also his birthday and my dance company danced and had a booth at the Virginia State Chili Cookoff. On Sunday DH and I went to my mom's house for a cookout for my brother. This weekend is busy too, but not quite as bad. My dance company is having a pancake breakfast fundraiser on Saturday, hopefully we can raise a lot of money!

Here are the details on my card:

Embelishments: Chocolate Satin Ribbon (Satin Sensations), Wintergreen DP (SU!), Prints Pack DP (SU!), Silver brads (Making Memories), Scallop Circle Punch (SU!), 1 3/8'' Circle Punch (SU!), 1 1/4'' Circle Punch (Paper Shapers), Markers (SU!)

Ehhh...

Hi everyone, sorry I have been MIA. I have been recovering from my insane weekend... in 2 days I judged 38 hours of dance routines... it was looooooong! I finally felt up to stamping today, and you can tell I'm out of practice... oh well, gotta start back at some point!

This card is for several challenges that have been on Splitcoast this week. The first is the color challenge #164 to use purley pomegranant, soft sky, and basic black. I also used the sketch from challenge #174 and finally the ways to use it challenge to use ruffles or crimping on your card.

I am sending this card to my cousin for her college graduation that's this weekend.

The image was stamped w/ Stazon Black and then colored with purely pomegranant ink w/ blender pens.

Basics:
Cardstock: purely pomegranant, soft sky, whisper white, basic black, Watercolor paper (all SU!)
Embelishments: Bali Breeze DP (SU!), Soft Sky Double-Sitched ribbon (SU!), Sponge Daubers (SU!), Brads (Making Memories)
Tools: Creative Memories Cutting System, Paper Crimper, Crop-a-Dile

I hope everyone is having a fantastic week! Thanks for stopping back!
