Take Joy in Pacific Point!

splitcoast stampers, stampin up, demonstrator, petals & stems, verve visual Hi everyone! Guess what, I got a day off today!! It's raining/freezing rain. I think it's supposed to get colder as the day goes on, so I'm not taking the chance of opening up the studio today.

Today's color challenge on Splitcoast Stampers was a great one! I really loved it! You were to use Pacific Point, Garden Green, & Baja Breeze. I love the boldness of the Pacific Point!

I found Katharina's sketch on the Daily Dare blog. It was a great sketch this week! I especially loved it because I could use my new circle nestabilities! That's always a plus!!!

I pulled out my Verve Visual Petals & Stems set. I stamped the flowers twice, cut them out, and mounted them on dimensionals. The butterfly is also stamped, cut out and popped on dimensionals. The background paper is by Basic Grey, I believe it's the Sherbert line.

Card Details:
Paper: Pacific Point, Garden Green, Baja Breeze, Whisper White, Basic Grey dp

Ink: Garden Green, Baja Breeze, Pacific Point, Basic Black
Stamps: Petals & Stems (Verve Visual)
Accessories: White Gel Pen, Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Baja Breeze Ribbon, Pacific Point Ribbon, Dimensionals

Daring Color Combo and Big Announcement!

Hi everyone! I managed to get a card cranked out this morning!

I used the sketch from Our Creative Corner!

I came up with this color combo by looking in my paper box and figuring out which colors I NEVER use! I had a bunch of Garden Green hanging around, so I went with that... as you can see I didn't even use any of the plain cardstock because I ended up using some scrap Wild Wasabi which is almost identical to the Garden Green!

The color combo drove me to use the Strawberry from Tart & Tangy. I started with the sketch and the colors first, not the image... it actually worked out well!

This has brought me to a big announcement... beginning this THURSDAY I will be hosting a daring color challenge! Every other week there will be prizes and I will be looking for a design team to come up with samples!

Are you interested in becoming part of the design team? Email me 3 of your best works, it can be a card, scrapbook page or a 3d altered item. There is no compensation for being part of this design team, but your blog will be promoted! My email is

Patterns Patterns Patterns!

splitcoast stampers, dancerriley, itty bitty buds, stampin up, demonstrator
Hi everyone! I started off my morning with a trip to the dentist for a routine cleaning. I came back home and decided to stamp a card before I headed to the studio. Especially since I have had a sinus headache all freaking morning :(

My card today is for the Ways to Use it challenge over on Splitcoast Stampers and for Denise's sketch challenge today!

The Ways to use it challenge was to use designer paper and alter it in some way. I decided to dry emboss mine! I like how it came out, although it's hard to see it in the picture!

I pulled out my new Itty Bitty Buds set from the new catalog. I stamped the flowers, cut them out, and popped them up on dimensionals! I like how it came out and this paper uses colors that are out of my comfort zone!

Card Details:
Paper: Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip, Tangerine Tango, Whisper White, Dp
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine Tango
Stamps: Itty Bitty Buds
Accessories: Tangerine Tango Ribbon, Dimensionals, Nestabilities (Spellbinders)

I really loved this color combo: Kiwi Kiss, Bravo Burgandy, & Regal Rose! It makes a great card and I was even more excited when I realized that this new Sultry designer paper from Basic Grey matched!

I pulled out on of my most favorite stamp sets, Live Your Dream. I am so sad that it didn't make it into the 2009 Spring/Summer catalog, I really thought it would because it's such a great and versatile set!

ShoutOut to SheetLoad!

Have you checked out SheetLoad of cards recently? They have a great online magazine that comes out once a month with an awesome sketch! This isn't just any ordinary sketch, it has detailed measurements to make one or several of the same layout!

I love it! You should definately go check it out!

You can see the current issue by clicking here!

Friend to Friend - My 2 hour card!!

love you much bundle, stampin up, dancerriley, splitcoast stampers, ways to use it challenge, stamping, valentine
So, yes... this took me 2 hours to complete! Mostly because I kept messing up the main image and couldn't get it to look like I wanted it to!

Today's challenge on Splitcoast Stampers was to use an online color generator to come up with a color combination.
I went to Kuler to find a color combination. It's a really fun site, you should check it out! I chose the combo called "Elan".
I translated the colors into Bravo Burgandy, Rose Red, Regal Rose, Tempting Turquoise, & Very Vanilla. This is definately not a combo I would normally put together on my own... especially the Bravo Burgandy... I NEVER use that color! I don't know why!

I once again used my "Love You Much" bundle from Stampin' Up! It's so fun!

Card Details:
Bravo Burgandy, Regal Rose, Rose Red, Tempting Turquoise, Very Vanilla
Stamps: Love You Much
Ink: Bravo Burgandy
Accessories: Hodgepodge Hardware, Small Oval Punch, Stampin Up Markers, 3 Heart Punch, 3/4'' circle punch, Satin Ribbon (Satin Sensations)

Love You Much!

stampin up, love you much bundle, free stampin up catalog, splitcoast stampers, sketch challenge, dancerriley
Happy Wednesday everyone! Here is my card for today's sketch challenge over on Splitcoast Stampers!

I just got my Love You Much bundle yesterday in the mail, so I knew I was going to use it on today's card!

I am really loving the 3 heart punch, it's so fun!!

The hearts were stamped, punched out, and mounted on dimensionals for some added interest. I added the riding hood ribbon and then decided it still needed something else, so I found these heart brads that I've had laying around forever and added them! I think it came out great, but it's a lot of embellishments!!

Card Details:

Paper: Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red, Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip, Candy Lane Dp
Stamps: Love You Much
Ink: Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon, Dimensionals, 3 Heart Punch, Pretty in Pink Marker, Heart Brads (unknown vendor)

Heart Fun!

stampin up, valentine, love you much bundle, demonstrator, splitcoast stampers, limited supplies, studio gHi everyone!  Happy Friday!  Today's card is for the limited supplies challenge over on Splitcoast Stampers!

We were to make a card with hearts!

We could use any stamp set, but we got bonus points for using a heart image... score!

We could use any paper but we had to use it with a shade of red... this is where I am pushing the rules a little bit... I am going with Regal Rose.. it's a SHADE of red, right???

Punches or dies had to be heart shaped... whoops... I used an oval punch before I remembered that was a no no... hopefully no one blows the whistle on that one!

All embossing folders had to have a heart.... check!

Accesories had to be red or a heart shape... so I used this really cute heart brads that I had in my stash!

If you used designer paper, it had to be red or have hearts... mine has hearts!

The best part of this is that I pulled out my $1 Studio G clear stamps and used them exclusively on this card!

Card Details:
Paper: Regal Rose, Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink, Taken w/ Teal, Whisper White, old SU dp
Ink: Regal Rose, Taken w/ Teal
Stamps: $1 clear stamps (Studio G)
Accesories: heart brads (unknown vendor), heart embossing folder (provocraft), lace (unknown vendor)

Have a great Friday!

Skiing Riley!

hanna stamps, riley moose, stampin up, splitcoast stampers, dancerriley, love you much valentines bundleHi everyone! Today's challenge on Splitcoast Stampers was to make a card and use stars somewhere on the design!

I was working on this card when I checked the challenge and it really helped me finish it off!

I colored the image with Primas pencils and gamsol. I added glitter to the bottom of the image to make the snow sparkle, but you can't really see it in the picture.

The image is from Hanna Stamps. I just love their Riley moose collection and not just because they have my name.. haha! I just think they are so cute!

The sketch is from this month's SheetLoad of Cards e-zine. I used to do their sketches every month, but lately I haven't had time, so it was great to get back into it! I did delete their sentiment layer because it just didn't fit onto my card.

Card Details:
Paper: Old Olive, Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Ski Slope dp
Ink: Stazon Jet Black
Stamps: Riley Skiing (Hanna Stamps)
Accessories: Prisma Pencils, Gamsol, Silver Brads (unknown vendors), Sizzix star die cut, glitter, chocolate chip ribbon

I hope everyone has a great day!

Itty Bitty Buds for You!

Hi everyone!  I hope you had a wonderful New Year's!

Today's challenge on Splitcoast Stampers was called "My Favorite Things"  We had to make a card using only our favorites!

These are my favorite colors: bashful blue, certainly celery, & real red!

I used my new favorite stamp set, Itty Bitty Buds (coming in the new Spring/Summer catalog by Stampin' Up).

I used my favorite ribbon, striped Real Red!  And I had to use some Hodgepodge Hardware!

The buds are popped up on dimensionals, but it's hard to see from the picture!

The sketch is from an old SheetLoad of Cards issue.

Thank you for looking and have a wonderful day!!!
