Cake & Ice Cream

Disclaimer: this card is majorly crooked and I got tired of fighting with it and just let it be.

Hello!  Happy Sunday!  I hope you've had a wonderful weekend.  It has been raining here since Friday.  We need the rain, but I'm getting a little tired of it at this point.  You would think I would be motivated to get things done around the house since we can't go outside and do anything.  You would be mistaken.  My motivation level is at a 1.

And just a quick vent before I get to my card for today.  Don't label a recipe EASY when you have to use a saucepan, saute pan, baking sheet, pie pan, every measuring cup I own and most all of my measuring spoons.  Granted, I should have thoroughly read the recipe before I started, but SERIOUSLY?  EASY?  Easy to me is one dish, BAM we're done.  It wasn't that any of the actual cooking or preparing was HARD, it was just really annoying.  Like, REALLY ANNOYING!  And the cleanup was not easy either.

ANYWAY.... I started this card after I had completely destroyed the kitchen and I was annoyed.  Hence why it is crooked and I didn't even care.  I swear sometimes the cardstock is crooked to begin with because there is no rational explanation to why it wasn't straight when I laid it all out.

Enough of my ranting.  This card is for today's Feature Stamper challenge on Splitcoast Stampers and for the Create with Connie & Mary challenge which was to use Watermelon Wonder, Calypso Coral, and Blushing Bride.  Now, I started this challenge thinking I had Watermelon Wonder ink or at least the marker... No, I don't have either one.  FAILURE!  I made due, but my Stampin' Up order just got bigger... I'm off topic again.

The Featured Stamper today is known on Splitcoast as Penny Strawberry and she has a really fun gallery.  She does a lot of punch type art, so I knew I was going to use a variety of punches on this card.  I settled on this one to case:

I kept the ice cream theme, but used the Sprinkles of Life stamp set.  I also kept the layout the same.  I did use different designer paper; Cherry on Top and I used the colors from the Create with Connie & Mary challenge.

I hope you enjoy my crooked card!

  1. Riley your post made me chuckle - I hope dinner was worth it! I hate it when that happens too (but I never read the whole recipe through first in detail either!) As for your card - your ice cream looks delicious! I love the layering of your scoops and the sentiment label, and the texture added by the lace trim. Thanks for joining us over at Create With Connie and Mary this week!
