Happy 4th of July!
Happy Independence Day! I hope you have some fun plans with family and friends today to celebrate! We are keeping it pretty low key. This is the first time in a few years we have been home for the 4th, and since we have had a whirlwind start to the summer, it's nice to have a weekend to relax.
Today's card features one of my other new stamp sets... yes, I know, it was in last year's catalog, but again, I wasn't really stamping much last year, so it is new to me. Plus, I have seen soooo many cute cards featuring this set, that I knew I had to get it. Oddly enough, I actually got it because I loved the little anchor image, but then I didn't even use it on this card... haha! I see myself digging out the long retired Crab & Company set to compliment this one. I love fun sea creatures!
This is for THREE challenges! The Mojo Monday Sketch, the ColourQ, and the Free For All Challenge on Splitcoast Stampers.
The ColourQ this week just happened to be the PERFECT nautical color scheme for the Sea Street set. The colors you had to use were: Poppy Parade (retired), Midnight Muse (retired), Pool Party, Kraft/Crumb Cake, and Whisper White. I was excited to have ALL of these colors!
I paired it with the Mojo Monday Sketch which was to make a tall & skinny card. I used the dimensions for a card that would fit in my normal sized envelopes. I let the circle hang off the side just slightly since there is extra room in the envelope. My card size is 5.5'' x 3.5''. It was a cute size to work with.
I started this card not really planning on including the Free For All challenge to use brads, but they couldn't be round! After I got my card all put together I went diving into my brad stash and found these adorable fish brads! I have no idea where they came from or what brand they are, but they fit my card perfectly! Who knew!?! All my years of card making supply hoarding paid off today.. haha!
Supplies:
Paper: Crumb Cake, Midnight Muse (retired), Whisper White, Just Add Cake DP (retired), Cherry on Top DP
Ink: Midnight Muse, Crumb Cake
Stamps: Sea Street
Accessories: Circle Framelits, Fish brads (brand unknown), Midnight Muse Stitched Ribbon
