Patiently Waiting

stampin' up
Hello!  My blog title says it all... I placed my first order from the new Stampin' Up catalog last Friday, so I am patiently waiting for new goodies!  I don't think I will get it until Monday, though... bummer!

In the meantime, I've been trying to get back in the groove with some of my old supplies.

I made this card for the Mojo Monday sketch challenge and this week's Color Challenge on Splitcoast Stampers.  The color challenge called for Pool Party, Wisteria Wonder, and Blackberry Bliss.  I don't yet have Blackberry Bliss, so I subbed for Elegant Eggplant.  It was the closest color, I think.  I love how these colors work together.

I pulled out an old retired hostess set called Because I Care.  I feel that it is very similar to the new hostess set called Best Thoughts and I've seen so many beautiful cards with the new set that I thought I would pull out this older similar one and give it a go.

One of the techniques I've seen people doing recently is stamping lined images in colored ink and NOT coloring it in.  I have to say, I do like how it looks and how it turned out with this particular image.  I actually stamped some of the smaller flower images in Wisteria Wonder and then hand cut them out and popped them on dimensionals on the main flower.  I like the 3D effect it gives and it was easy to do.

Well, I better get going... I have chicken in the oven and I need to get the rest of dinner put together!
