Cup of Thanks

morning cup stampin' up
Hi!  I hope you have had a great weekend.  Mine got better from Friday, thank goodness.  Thank you for your sweet comments, they really cheered me up!  Today is Sunday and that means it is the Featured Stamper challenge over on Splitcoast Stampers.  I love the Featured Stamper challenge for several reasons: It gives me a reason to spend some time browsing one member's gallery and I get to try out someone's style and give it my own spin.

Today's Featured Stamper is Caryn Davies, AKA Glitter Me Silly on Splitcoast.  You can find her magnificent Splitcoast gallery HERE!  She also has a blog by the same name: Glitter Me Silly.

I am always drawn to stamp sets and cards that use coffee and tea cups.  I don't know what the deal is except for the fact that I love both.  HA!  So, of course, I picked this beautiful card to CASE today:

I kept the layout pretty much the same and the colors as close as I could to what she used.  She didn't use Stampin' Up, so I had to convert!  I ended up translating her color palette to Whisper White, Barely Banana (retired), Soft Sky, and Baked Brown Sugar (retired).  I used the Label Framelits for my main panel and used the Baked Brown Sugar marker to make my faux paper piercing.  I used the cup and sentiment from Tea Shoppe, but the steam is from Morning Cup.

I am pretty happy with how my card turned out, I just wish my cup image had been a little bit bigger, or I had scaled down and used the size smaller label framelit.  Either way, I think it's pretty cute.

Supplies List:
Paper: Whisper White, Barely Banana (retired), Baked Brown Sugar (retired), Soft Sky
Stamps: Morning Cup (retired), Tea Shoppe (retired)
Ink: Soft Sky & Baked Brown Sugar
Accessories: Labels Framelits, Stampin' Dimensionals, Baked Brown Sugar Marker, Dots Embossing Folder
